Fully Buffered DIMM (FBD) addresses these requirements by providing a high-bandwidth, large capacity channel solution that has a narrow host interface. Fully Buffered DIMMs use commodity DRAMs isolated from the channel behind a buffer on the DIMM that creates a pay-as-you-go cost structure.
