JEDEC Announces Participation in Founding Ceremony in Beijing
ARLINGTON, Va., USA and BEIJING, CHINA – June 11, 2009 – The Chief Representative in
China for the JEDEC Solid State Technology Association, Mr.Xianmin Xi, recently delivered a
congratulatory speech at the founding ceremony for the China Electronic Standardization
Association’s Mobile Storage Standard Committee (CMSSC), held on May 26, 2009 in Beijing.
CMSSC was founded under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Information
Technology (MIIT), the Standardization Administration of China (SAC), the China Electronic
Standardization Association (CESA) as well as the China Electronic Standardization Institute
(CESI). CESA’s establishment of the CMSSC Committee indicates a significant step forward
in the development of mobile storage standards in China, which target mobile storage security,
Solid State Drives, IPSAN as well as object-oriented storage.
The event was well attended, with 80 representatives from sponsoring government
agencies, institutions and industrial organizations as well as major CMSSC member
companies (many of whom are also JEDEC members) in attendance, including: The China
Potevio Group; Lenovo Group; The Founder Group; Aigo Group; Silicon Motion Inc. (China); A-Data Technology; Chipsbank Technologies (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd.; Apple, Inc.;
Huazhong University of Science and Technology; Beijing TravelStar High-tech Co., Ltd.;
Putian Maode Technologies (Chongqing) Corporation and others.
