The JEDEC Board and EIAJ had their second joint executive meeting in Tokyo on June 28-29 at the Tokyo Dome hotel. The purpose of this meeting was to update each other on standards work going on in each organization and to coordinate efforts to do joint work. The topics of JISSO standards and lead-free soldering were highlights of the meeting. There were 15 JEDEC representatives and 18 EIAJ representatives at the meeting. It is expected the next meeting will take place within two years. The first executive meeting was held in Austin, Texas in November 1998, but other Committee level joint meetings have been ongoing.
